Iguanodon was a bulky herbivore that could shift from bipedality to quadrupedality. The best-known species, L bernissartensis, is estimated to have weighed about 3.08 tones (3.5 tons) on average and measured about 10 meters long (32.8 feet) as an adult, with some specimens possibly as a long as 13 meters (42.6 ft).
